  Lucas Congdon President and designer for Lucas Lagoons Inc Award-winning pool designer Lucas Congdon, President of Lucas Lagoons Inc. began his career working in his parent's landscaping business in Vermont almost 15 years ago. It was there he developed his natural talent for working with stone. The Vermont mountain influence can be seen in many of his designs. He moved to Sarasota nine years ago. seven years ago he started Lucas Lagoons, Inc. with Barbara Luehring to design and build luxury outdoor living areas and lagoons in the Sarasota-Manatee area.   Barbara Luehring VP of Lucas Lagoons Inc Barbara Luehring, Vice-President of Lucas Lagoons, has been a resident of Sarasota for over 50 years. After graduating from college she was involved in developing a gold mining operation in Bolivia in the 70's. During the 80's, she owned and managed Luehring Land Development, Inc., a road construction company. Her expertise is in heavy construction as well as corporate development and management.   Lucas and Barbara joined forces to start Lucas Lagoons Inc. as a company specializing in luxury lagoons designed and built by Lucas. The use of natural stone is a signature of Lucas Lagoons. The company has been successful from the outset, because the quality of the work coupled with the brilliance of each design has created an outstanding reputation. Lucas Lagoons have been featured on HGTV and in Sarasota Magazine, SRQ, HouseTrends, Home and Design, Home and Garden, Home Style Magazine and the Sarasota Herald Tribune. Lucas is the winner of three gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal awarded by the Florida Swimming Pool Association in 2007 and again in 2008 in a state wide design competition.The 2008 FSPA awards included a gold, silver and bronze in swimming pool renovation.Lucas also won a gold medal from the Assoc. of Pool and Spa Professionals in 2008.
